To anyone who loved the Pro Skater video games, here's some information you should enjoy if you haven't already heard...
Pro Sater is being remade! Woo...yeah. This is cool if you're still into video games. If not, come back next week for my new post.
The remake of Pro Skater isn't just an HD version being ported to ps3 and Xbox, it's actually a Compilation of levels from the first two installments, remade in a completely new engine for ps3 and xbox360. So far not much information on the game has been released at this time other than a summer release date, confirmed playable character Tony Hawk(what a surprise) and a few playable levels. Once the games released, it will only be available via the play station network and Xbox marketplace as a download.
This new release came as a surprise to me since the Tony Hawk series was claimed to be shut down after their second failure of a video game in a row, Tony Hawks Shred. Along with Tny Hawks Ride, the two games were massive failures. They tried to Change the way the game was played completely by taking away the original controller, and throwing in a motion board instead. This whol idea was dumb in my opinion since I grew up with the series. But oh we'll, money is money right?

Tunes to skate to..
The only genres worth listening to while skating is rap and old school punk rock. I'm not even a huge rap fan, but it just goes so well with skating. It's like the yin to skatings yang.
If you have ever played any old playstation skate games such as Pro Skater, or the more modern Skate, you would hear a lot of rap and punk music. Why? Because they go hand in hand and the punk rock also amps up the skater. At least in my case it does.
It's not the hip-hop/rap combinations that a lot of todays music has become that goes well with skating, its more of the old school Public Enemy and Rage Against the Machine. For punk rock it would be The Dead Kennedys, Primus and Suicidal Tendencies.
If you were to lookup videos of skating on the web about 80% would contain rap, while about 15% would have punk rock. The last 5% is any of the weird music kids listen to these days that they sadly put into their videos.

Them young kids
There is something that I realized quite a while ago, maybe a year or so. But I am sure that a lot of people know this already but it fits well in a blog post for my topic so here it goes...
If you want to become good at something, start doing that "thing" at a really young age. Preferably, the youngest age possible. If this happens, the said child will most guaranteed become a professional or at least moderately skilled at whatever "thing" they attempt by their early to late teens.
I not only say this because children pick up every little toy that comes out these days and instantly masters it in no time, but also because it is true with skateboarding as well. If you ask any given amount of professional skaters how old they were when they started skating, I can almost guarantee that they will anwser anywhere from 6-13. And if you ask them why they started, you will most likely hear the "I was given my first skateboard from a friend/family member" answer.
Not that starting young is a bad thing because with me I kinda of did, but I did not stick with it 100%. I quit for a while and then picked it back up a few years ago. The older you are when you try to pick up a new hobby or activity, the harder it generally is to get good at whatever it is. And in my case, it was skateboarding.
